The Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) has set new competency programmes for people wishing to uplift EWRB practicing licenses.
These programmes came into effect on 1st February 2012.
Any person wishing to uplift a EWRB practicing licence must have attended Board-Approved courses in Electrical Safety and approved instruction in CPR & Basic First Aid.
Life Care Consultants in association with Wintec provide a 2-part Electrical Competency Course which meets both these requirements and is approved by the EWRB.
Due to Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS), and Electrical Service Technician (EST) having different requirements from Electricians (E) and Inspectors (I), we offer two separate Electrical Competency Courses specific to the two groups. Please ensure you register for the correct course. (If you are a high voltage electrical worker, please contact our office).
If you need to meet the requirements to uplift a practicing licence as an Inspector, Electrician, Electrical Engineer or Electrical Installer, click here: Electricians & Inspectors. This will take you to the courses and booking information specific to these requirements.
If you need to meet the requirements to uplift a practicing licence as an Electrical Service Technician, Electrical Appliance Service Person or Associated Trades Person click here: Electrical Appliance Service Persons & Service Technicians. This will take you to the courses and booking information specific to these requirements.
All courses include hands-on practical training and assessment to ensure ongoing competency, and the training outcomes are registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board.
Please ring Life Care on 0800 493 559 if you have any queries.
Please note: Safe Working Practices are now specifically excluded from the Board's requirements for competence programmes to obtain a practicing licence. Therefore, attending a competency programme will not satisfy the requirements to uplift a Trainee Limited Certificate.
